A first destination: Sharing TeamHive with my network

A first destination: Sharing TeamHive with my network

If you’ve read my earlier posts, you’ll know I’ve been sharing the journey of how we got here—how years of working with leaders and teams led me to see the team itself as the place where real change happens. In the first one, I talked about my early days and the pull toward something more collective. The second was about realising individual development often isn’t enough without addressing the team’s dynamics. And in the third, I shared some of the patterns I kept seeing, and why I think focusing on a core issue can make all the difference.

This post is about turning that into something tangible. TeamHive is now live! The full platform has actually been operational since July delivering insights to dozens of leaders and teams who've been involved in Brave Insights Leadership and Team Performance Programs.

At its heart, TeamHive is an online tool for assessing and enhancing team effectiveness—helping teams get a clear view of how they’re functioning and where to focus next. The central part of the offering is the TeamHive 360, a team diagnostic that draws from our research partnership with UON, which provides an evidence-based framework with predictive validity for team effectiveness. It looks at four key areas—Purpose, Learning, Unity, and Shared Leadership—to surface critical enablers that could unlock greater team outcomes.

The development wasn’t rushed. It came from mixing my own experience with research support from the University of Newcastle, an expert review panel, and road testing with real teams. You can read more about TeamHive here.

TeamHive stands on its own, it was created with leaders and organisations at its heart, which means you can use it independently for diagnostic insights and strategies for team progress. At the same time, it's already being used within my consulting business, where it provides a quicker pathway to insight for leaders and teams in our team coaching and leadership programs. The two aren’t fused—they’re separate entities—but they’re designed to work together when a team needs both the clarity of data and the support to act on it.

To mark this step, and because so many people in my network have been generous with their time and feedback along the way, I’m offering those people complimentary access the 'Team Effectiveness Indicator'. This is a limited version of the full diagnostic, based solely on a single user's own view of their team’s dynamics and performance. It’s not the complete 360—it doesn’t pull in perspectives from other team members or stakeholders, and it uses a limited pool of items only — but I think it's a useful starting point in developing team insights, and dozens of leaders and team members who've used it as part of a recent program found it valuable as an quick and easy insight into their teams effectiveness.

For now, this early access offer is invite-only, reserved for people in my network as a thank you. If that includes you, then you should have an invite email in your inbox. You'll need the access code from that email. If you want to get started now, you can do so here. Or, if you prefer to read more about TeamHive first, you can do that here.

If you don't have an invite email but you're interested in using TeamHive for your team or organisation, you're still very welcome to reach out or request pricing via the website. The platform is live and ready for use by teams and organisations.

Thanks again to everyone who’s been part of this. Your questions and challenges have shaped it more than you know. I’ll keep sharing as we go.
