Back in November, I invited my network to try the free diagnostic. It was a quiet launch — invite code, limited access, a chance for people I'd worked with or connected with over the years to see what we'd been building.
The Free Team Effectiveness Indicator is now open to everyone. If you lead a team, work in one, or support people who do — you can now sign up and start with this free diagnostic that measures your own team's dynamics and effectiveness, starting with your own perspective.
What's happened since November
The platform has continued to be used in more real team development work with enterprise clients via Brave Insights. Most recently, TeamHive 360 was run across around 40 leaders as part of a High‑Performing Teams program with NextEd Group, designed and facilitated by Brave Insights. Leaders walked into the room with their own team's data already in hand — not a generic case study, not a vague sense of "we could probably communicate better." Real patterns, across real teams, grounded in the PLUS model (Purpose, Learning, Unity, Shared Leadership).
What stood out, again, was how much faster teams got to the conversations that matter when they're working from data instead of opinion. Some of those conversations were affirming. Some were uncomfortable. All of them were more useful than starting from scratch. You can read more about how that program worked here.
That kind of work — running TeamHive 360 at scale, across a whole cohort of teams — is where the diagnostic really earns its keep. You can see variation between teams, target follow-up support based on what the data actually shows, and give leaders a shared language that doesn't reduce team effectiveness to engagement scores or happiness surveys.
What's new on the platform
For those who signed up with an invite code late last year: a few things have changed since you last logged in. The biggest addition is an AI team coach, now built into the platform. It's there to help you make sense of your results, think through what the data might mean for your team, and explore practical next steps — without needing to wait for a workshop or a consultant to interpret it for you. It doesn't replace the deeper work that comes with a full team development program, but it adds a layer of support that wasn't there before.
More about the Free Team Effectiveness Indicator
The Free Team Effectiveness Indicator takes about ten minutes to complete. It's our TeamHive 360 diagnostic based on the PLUS model, but applied to your perspective only — how you see your team's dynamics and performance. You'll get a web-based results summary and a limited PDF report. It's a shorter version of the full diagnostic, with less questions. And it doesn't include input from other team members or stakeholders. But it's a genuinely useful starting point for developing insight into how your team is tracking.
